Lucy Brittian is a key member of our Sports Law team, with a specialist focus on mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). She brings together technical legal expertise with a calm, solutions-focused approach, helping clients navigate complex or sensitive disputes with confidence and clarity.
With significant experience both client-side and as a trained mediator, Lucy understands how ADR can offer a faster, less adversarial, and more constructive route to resolution—particularly in matters where relationships, reputations, or emotions are at stake. Her experience includes both formal mediation and advising clients through facilitated negotiation processes.
Known for her ability to guide clients through even the most challenging conversations, Lucy balances empathy and pragmatism with a forward-thinking approach to dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Tavendale + Partners, Lucy was General Manager of Immediation NZ, delivering mediation services to organisations including Sport New Zealand. She also worked with businesses across a range of sectors to design and implement in-house dispute resolution frameworks.
Lucy’s background also includes experience in the health sector, having previously served as Legal Counsel at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora.
