Kate is renowned for her extensive expertise in personal and property law, with a particular focus on land law. She provides expert advice on complex matters such as the compulsory acquisition of land under the Public Works Act and navigates the intricacies of high-risk property transactions such “as is” properties.

Additionally, Kate offers valuable experience in elder law, providing guidance on matters related to wills, estates, and the legal needs of older members of the community, ensuring their rights and interests are effectively protected.

Before joining the firm, Kate gained considerable experience working in Washington D.C. with the office of the late Congressman John Lewis, and assisting Nigel Hampton QC with private prosecutions. This background has honed her skills in handling multifaceted legal issues and provided her with a unique perspective on legal practice.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kate is deeply committed to community service. She volunteers with Christchurch Riding for Disabled and the Prison Information Service and serves as the Honorary Solicitor for the Samoyed Club. Her dedication to both her clients and her community underscores the regard in which she is held by her clients.

Kate is based in our Christchurch and Darfield offices, and also works remotely across Selwyn.
